The thankGod thankmeter is an indication of how 'healthy' the site is, in terms of the amount of new unposted thanksgivings we have. It basically is our way of visually telling you when we could do with more!

May we mention, however, that the thankmeter is simply an indication of how many surplus thanksgivings we have - please do not see it as us forcing you to submit! We strongly believe that thanksgivings should not be made out of compulsion or obligation, but from a sincere and grateful heart. Thanksgivings should be spontaneous; an expression of an heart that wants to give God all the glory.

Also, please do not decide whether or not you should thank simply based on the thankmeter! Just because the meter is green doesn't mean that we don't want any extra thanksgivings! Indeed, our hearts are filled with so much joy when we have a huge surplus of thanksgivings, and it often results in us posting up two thanksgivings a day, which is always a treat :)

In summary, the purpose of the thankmeter is to let you know when we are running short and could do with more submissions to keep us going. But if you didn't plan to submit any thanksgivings anyway, feel completely free not to, and don't worry about it. God is faithful and we know we can trust Him.
